Suite London extra tracks! | |
John and Roy 03 July 2006 19:08:00 |
Suite London is to be released on CD next month on Universal's new "Eclipse" imprint. Saint Etienne's Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs have been given the keys to the tape library in West Hampstead, and The Peddlers' Suite London is one of the first four releases. The track listing is NOT that of the original album however. 1. This Strange Affair 2. Raining In London 3. Sequence of Thought 4. Did She 5. In Juxtaposition 6. Under London Lights 7. River Lives 8. I Have Seen 9. Impressions (2'46) 10. A Year And A Day 11. This Strange Affair (2'47) 12. This Is It 13. A Year and a Day 14. Manah 15. Have You Ever Been To Georgia 16. Back Alley Jane 17. Nothing Sacred 18. Sing Me An Old Song 19. It's So Easy |

Thanks for info John & Roy. Naturally I am delighted that SL is to be released on CD at last as its long overdue, but the addition of these extra track seems a strange decision ? |
Brian 04 July 2006 06:59:28 | Well Del, it seems a little odd to me too. Perhaps it's a way of offering "value for money", ... it's not unusual to have albums with "bonus tracks" these days. Personally, I'd prefer "Suite London" to remain just that, a suite, and the extra tracks to be released separately as a "rarities collecter's disc" perhaps. As a long term Pedds fan, I really think "Suite London" should remain as a completely self contained album, ... but who are we to question the marketing gurus? Still, I guess if Roy and the boys are cool with it, ... so be it. |
Terry Sinnett 04 July 2006 14:55:45 | Like everyone - it has been great news to hear of the Suite London CD release, and my order has been in with Amazon since the news broke. I too am a little surprised on the additional tracks, and would have preferred just the original soundtrack. I agree with Brian that the extra's would have been great as a base for a further compilation of other Pedds music, not currently on CD. However, we shall not complain, and look forward to hearing this fantastic music on CD quality soon. Lets hope there are enough Pedds fans out there who have or will order SL, and this will persuade the marketing men to issue another CD of great Pedds music for us all to enjoy - there's certainly plenty still out there that can go onto CD. As Del regularly says : Keep the Faith!!! Greetings to all from Wales.

Rob 24 July 2006 06:20:03 | Whew! At least it's the entire album.....in the same order......can't wait for this! |
Rob 08 September 2006 04:26:17 | Bonus tracks are included to help sales from the general public. If a disc seems too short, people shy away. Us hardcore fans might prefer just the original album alone on a disc, but I can understand why they're included. |
Rob 08 September 2006 04:31:13 | Just realized......2 of them I don't have anyway! |
Manah 19 December 2006 05:29:20 | Too bad no Let Me Be Turned To Stone on this..... |

Manah, When you want this track, give your E-mail and I mail it to you Hans |
Manah 21 December 2006 05:38:59 | Thanks Hans, but I have it.....dubbed from vinyl. A bit scratchy, but not bad. Just wish a cleaner version could've been on Suite London. Great song! |
