Review: Absolutely Brilliant !!!!!!!!!! (5/5)
I saw the Peddlers back in the seventies. What a fabulous sound !!!!. A band with real talent. A sound that will never age. At last I,ve found them on CD, and the memories came flooding back. Oh what bliss !!!!.

Review: COOLER THAN COOL? (5/5)
My dad saw these play in the 60s in Blackburn Lancashire, and he said they brought the house down! Years later he saw Freewheelin in a 2nd hand shop and bought it. We grew up listening to this, and ive always liked it. I just had to buy this when i saw it had come out on CD, long overdue! Great songs, classy, jazzy and masterful these guys are all superb musicians, ahead of their time in some respects to their sound. This truly IS cooler than cool!

Review: A BAND MOST UNDER RATED. (5/5)
THE PEDDLERS HAD ONLY A FEW YEARS IN THE LIMELIGHT, BUT THE MUSIC THEY MADE WAS EXTREMELY GOOD. A MUSICAL FUSION OF JAZZ/BLUES AND R&B POP. JUST LISTEN TO THIS DOUBLE C.D AND YOUR`LL SEE JUST HOW GOOD THEY WERE. THEY DID`NT RECORD A LOT OF ALBUMS BUT THE ONES THEY DID WAS GREAT.
EVEN THOUGH THESE TRACKS WAS RECORDED IN THE 60`s & EARLY 70`s IT SOUNDS AS IF IT WAS RECORDED YESTERDAY,FRESH AND VIBRANT, SHOWING THERE TALENT OFF WELL. SINGER & KEYBOARDIST ROY PHILLIPS HAS A SUPERB VOICE,LISTEN TO "Time after Time", TRACK 1 C.D A AND "Little Red Rooster",TRACK 11 C.D B.THIS C.D HAS 42 TRACKS , AND TO PICK A BAD ONE IS HARD TO DO.IF YOU LIKE GOOD COOL MUSIC PLAYED WELL YOUR`LL LOVE THIS ONE.WELL WORTH HAVING IN YOUR COLLECTION.YOUR`LL NEVER STOP PLAYING IT.I COULD RANT ON ABOUT THIS DOUBLE C.D ALL DAY,BUT I`d SOONER PLAY IT AGAIN..

Review: A Neglected Masterpiece (5/5)
I just about remember The Peddlers first time around and got to appreciate them through my father's copy of their superb Fantastic Peddlers LP on Pickwick (now when's that coming out on CD?).

However, anyone expecting their usual soulful interpretations of other's songs will be in for a shock with The London Suite, which is all their own work and so much the better for it.

As a London resident of many years, I cannot think of any other record that captures the atmosphere of London so completely, combining elements of jazz, blues and orchestral music to such stunning effect.

Listen without prejudice-you will not be disappointed !

Review: Not as Good as I thought (2/5)
Im afraid that i was not to taken with this cd, it is well worth the money but to me if you think you want to get a peddlers cd try "how cool is cool"

Mind you im glad i have it in my collection.

Review: Wonderful! (5/5)
The Peddlers started making music together in 1964. Like many people I know, when growing up as a teenager in the 1980s/90s I wouldn't have listened to anything that was produced in the 1960s or 70s. But now mellowing with old age, I'm beginning to appreciate a wider variety of music.

I bought this CD by chance after hearing their superb cover version of My Funny Valentine (part of the Live at the Pickwick CD, which sadly doesn't seem to be available anymore...).

Suite London was recorded in the early 70s with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Imagine the kind of music Zero 7 would have produced if they had been about in the 1960s/70s (with only Mozez on vocal duties), and you won't be far wrong.

Indeed, Zero 7 covered The Peddlers track "I Have Seen" on their debut album Simple Things.

This CD is worth the money if only to hear how that track originally sounded. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who likes laid back jazzy, funky sounds.

Review: A top quality, cheese-laden platter! (5/5)
What can I say? This album is truly brilliant! I was given a very poor quality copy of this on tape about 4 years ago, and I've been looking for it ever since. Now I've found it at Amazon, my life is complete! My favourite track is coming home, it has the grooviest scat solo known to man, and the organ solo on 'A Clear day' is just divine!!! It's real Blackpool Tower stuff done in a kitsch stylee. All in all, this is one the best, jazziest, grooviest, cheesiest records ever made, and if you're a fan of post-modern easy-listening, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Review: Double album release shows both sides of the Peddlers (5/5)
I was living in Cardiff back in the mid 90's and had a mate called Pete who liked all sorts of music - he had the Freewheelin' and the Live albums and introduced me to the band's music . Being a drummer I was impressed by that aspect and managed to track down both of those albums once I got back to Australia .

I later found this CD and was glad I did . It stopped me wearing the vinyl copies out !

If you've not heard the band , I would describe the music as groovy in the best sense of the word . The songs are varied in nature , as are the grooves played . I would love to see some of these songs played near a dancefloor - I'm sure they'd get people going .

For those who don't have it , patience will be rewarded sooner or later .
The group's other albums are coming out slowly .

May I suggest you buy the CD's and hunt down the vinyl in the meantime .

Review: A must for all those who appreciate innovative music (5/5)
I became a Peddler fan in 1967, so this reveiw will be biased. What grabbed me first was the way they re-vamped old standards and moulded them with their own unique style, yet still stayed loyal to the original score. Live at the Pickwick was their first album and demonstrates admirably their talent and love of what they did. They played as one yet their individual styles shone through. What'll I do was the track that introduced me to the Peddlers, and from that day to this I am still a fan. Luckily with this Box Set, you get two for the price of one (so to speak). Three For All was their 3rd Or 4th album I think, and again the treatment of well known songs like "In the Summertime", and "My Funny Valentine" might have the composers thinking "Now why didn't I do it that way". You are also treated to original compositions on both albums, thus enforcing their desire for variation with a common theme. I have tried many times to find C.D. versions of my vinyl collection only to asked by the assistant "Who". and comments like"never heard of them", so it's with much gratitude I thank See For Miles for publishing them and Amazon for stocking them. I now hope that the rest of their Albums become available on disc, which may also bring their music to a wider audience.
