Derek Wales 07 April 2005 21:06:04 | Yes Brian, I think your views are logical but I am sure that if all the true fans out there made an effort to post more often we could have a great discussion group. After all, when the Peddlers decided to call it a day, and went their separate ways, they left us with an amazing legacy of fine music to talk about/listen to/enjoy so we are not wanting for an excuse. Discussion can be about Roy, Trevor or Tab's playing, personal favorite tracks/ top 10 tracks, any live gigs attended, the discography, rare releases, unreleased material, how one first got into their music, sheet music,Tabs,Chords etc. etc. This music is too good to just let it fade away and I feel it is up to us, the fans, many of whom, like me, have bought Peddlers music right from the start, back in the 60's, to keep the faith and spread the word so that others may be fortunate enough to discover this amazing talent which is so rare these days. I post regularly on another site of a favorite singer/songwriter of mine who is sadly no longer with us but his fan club website is more active than ever, so if the music is great, which it is in this case lets keep it alive. Girlie is a great track and demonstrates the incredible musicianship of Roy's playing ability. There is no greater exponent of the Hammond B3 than Roy and equally his piano playing. In my opinion, he is right up there with the best in the world. I am sure that most Peddlers fans yearn for a re-formation of the band, it may never happen but we can dream, can't we ? After all Cream have just done it ! Roy ? If your reading this ? My best regards to all Peddlers fans all over the world and a warm welcome to Brian and John to this forum and as always, thanks to Roy and John for giving us this portal. Derek |

I think I've been here all the time but just didn't know this portal existed. It's a priceless site in regard to keeping The Peddlers "alive". How did I start? Which is my favourite track? How long have you got? But more importantly perhaps, where do we go from here?? Personaly, I'd like to make contact with everyone that has ever posted on this site with a view to creating a "register" so that if anything new comes to light, like re-releases or new music from Mr Phillips himself, (or any other former Peddler for that matter), all those people could be easily contacted and the news passed on in the event that they do not frequent this site, ... almost like a fan club, if you like. In the meantime, I guess it's up to us to "spread the word" and introduce the timeless music of The Peddlers to later generations. Those of you out there that visit this site, please, feel free to drop me a line. I'd be pleased to hear from you. Keep on "Gassin'" Derek, ... you do my heart so good! Best regards to one and all, ... Brian. |
