"Birthday" was recorded in 1969.

(CBS S63682)

Then, through the darkness came,
A shot of light that spelt a name,
it spelt it out with warm loving care,
The name meant everyone everywhere,
A depressing picture etched into my mind,
Casting shadows over all mankind,
Somehow sadness embossed its frame,
A plaintif cry,a touch of shame ,
it said HUMAN. it said HUMAN.
find it in your heart to love.

Roy Phillips.

This album was the last album to be released on the CBS label before the group returned to the Philips label. Two singles lifted from the album "Birth" and "Girlie" reached numbers 17 and 34 in the UK charts respectively. NB the track "Girlie P.S.I Love You" was split over two sides of the single as "Girlie"/"P.S. I LoveYou Girlie" - confused? a bowl of Lockshen Pudding might just help.
