The forum has been pretty quiet of late - maybe because everyone is still in the holiday mood!

From my own part, | have just returned from a super week in Gran Canaria and took the opportunity whilst relaxing on the beach to absorb once again the full repetoire of the Pedds music. I have stored much onto my MP3 player, and along with some CD's played every bit of their music I have obtained, including Roy's latest 'Way T'Is'.

These sessions listening to their music once again reinforces what many of us feel that the music loving world out there have never appreciated their full range of music skills. I am not a musician so cannot comment on the technical side of things, but I can most certainly say that the range, style variety and final sounds that the boys produced (and Roy continues to do) is remarkable, and worthy of much greater acclaim.

I asked in an earlier posting that contributors produce a 'Greatest Hits' or 'Best Of' listing, but after going through all the work realise that this really would be 'Mission Impossible'

As Del often says, for those true Pedds fans, keep the faith, and continue spreading the gospel, according to 3 of the very best musicians ever!!

Greetings to all from Wales

Hi Terry,

Very hard to choose any favorites but for me, "Girl Talk"

"Ebb Tide" "The Prime of My Life" "Southern Woman"

"Love For Sale" "City Living" "Girlie" and "Birth" (Dances With Shadows version) all have to be up near the top. Impossible to choose really as you say, "How good are they" ? Well their music still sounds fresh to me all these years later and in their heyday they were something very special as they are to me now.

Keep the faith !

Del

Hey Del - thanks for the reply and glad to see you're still the first to take up the mantle of replying to all things 'Pedds'

You mention 'Dancing with Shadows' version of 'Birth'. I know you have previously mentioned this to me, and I have been waiting some positive news on it's release. Is there any news??

Cheers

Terry

I'm a drummer and, if I do say so myself, a reasonably good one - I have played professionally over the years. So I can't talk about Tab and Roy from a technical point of view but Trevor is, in my opinion, probably the most under-rated drummer in British music. There are many drummers (Charlie Watts, Ringo) who can slide beautifully into a groove with their bands, and many others (Moonie, Bobby Elliot) who can play with great imagination and original technique. But there are very few who can do both as well as Trevor. He's a joy to listen to. For me, his work on 'Birthday' is the summit. When he's behind the kit, the drums are not just a support, they're an instrument as vital and expressive as Roy's Hammond.

These guys were the best when they were in their prime back in the 70s/80s, seen them many times in the Lancashire area when I lived in that area.

Always a great night out never missed a gig,got all their back catalogue and still listen to them.

Keep rockin.
