Hello Glenn,

Your question was the same as I had  and after some research I can tell you that first of all the recording was made in 1978 or 1979 and that means that there have to be a change to the year mentioned in the discography of this superb web-site.

The line-up of the band was beside the master himself on keyboards (you never heard anybody talking about his jazzy and soulful singing) Ken Healy on guitar, Dave Flay on bass and Phil James on drums. They played in a Jazz-Club called "the Bells" in Amstelveen (a city near Amsterdam), where the recording was made.

Ken who mailed me, told me that he toured for about one year with Roy mostly in England and during that time they were only one week in Holland. Ken and Dave are still in the music business as you can see below on the web-site of Ken.

Remains for me and perhaps for others the question where are the original tapes of this fantastic recording, because there must be certainly more material. Can anyone give me a hint.

Thank you for your inquiry re Live in Amsterdam. To the best of my

memory, this was recorded in 1974-5 and produced/engineered by

Cees Bodeux (think that's how it's spelt) Since that recording I have

never received any contractual / publishing arrangement. Cees fell ill

after the project was completed and was never seen or heard of again.

I remember it took two days to set up (after a short tour set up by the

Lou Van Rees organisation) It was taken back to a recording studio

and finished that same night. Quite a rush job, but I do remember

feeling very happy with the result, it was really LIVE !!! The setting

was a very over-crowded in the said club and constantly interupted

by break downs from audience standing on leads etc.People were

standing on heads.

I personally like to have more information of this project.

I do have a copy of it, although the quality has some-what dissapeared.
