Hi

I wonder if anyone knows if its The Peddlers playing on the title theme to the 1972 Dick Emery film "oo you are awful".

Its an organ led track with drums and a fantastic over the top bass-line.I was told on a library music forum that it may be The Peddlers as Dick Emery had used them before. Can anyone shred any light on this?

thankyou

The only thing I can find on the web is that the original music: Was credited Christopher Gunning

Roy has been asked the question by Brian in Melbourne so maybe he can enlighten us?

Cheers

I have long wanted to know who was responsible for the opening credits music on "Ooh You Are Awful"...Whilst Christopher Gunning composed the orchestral score, it's clearly not Gunning's work.

The music is superb...the hammond & bass sound are so good.

The Peddlers contributed a track to Gunning's score for "Goodbye Gemini", but did they do the brilliant jazz funk opening titles track for "Oooh You Are Awful"?

To be honest with you, but it must be me or Harry Stoneham on Hammond. Sorry to be so bland , but it was a long time ago ! Apart from that, I am mainly working my own show at this moment 'An Evening With Roy Phillips' But just had special experience working with The Rodger Fox Big Band on a three concert tour. An 18 piece section, very tasty ! A longer tour is planned for September. Thank you for your interest. Kind regards Roy Phillips > Hi > I wonder if anyone knows if its The Peddlers playing on the title theme to the 1972 Dick Emery film "oo you are awful". > Its an organ led track with drums and a fantastic over the top bass-line.I was told on a library music forum that it may be The Peddlers as Dick Emery had used them before. Can anyone shred any light on this? > thankyou > steve

"Oooh You Are Awful" is on BBC2 right now ( 22nd Sep '08 1.40am ) & oddly, the track is even longer than the last time I heard it from a previous tv showing!

The version I have on tape fades out the music, whilst the widescreen version on now carries the music on a few seconds longer. some amazing bass work ( anyone who has heard it will know! )
