The Marbles were a duo made up of Skegness cousins Graham Bonnet and Trevor Gordon who first came together in a band called The Blue Sect. The cousins agreed that whoever made it would support the other. While working in Australia Trevor met the Bee Gees (coincidentally it turned out Graham was a distant relative of the Gibbs) and this led to The Marbles being signed by Robert Stigwood.

Three singles were released by the duo:

Only one woman / By the light of a burning candle.

The walls fell down / Love you.

Breaking up is hard to do / I can't see nobody

An albums worth of material was also recorded but not released.

The group split after some poor live performances. Trevor was not heard from again but Graham Bonnet went onto solo success and later as lead singer with Rainbow as well as starring in the film "Three for All".

In the nineties a CD of the duos recrdings "Marbleized" was released.

The group may also have a connection with the 1969 single by The Fut "Have you heard the word / Futting. For many years this excellent record was thought to be a secret Beatles single but was in fact recorded by some of The Bee Gees.
