Anita Harris covers The Peddlers | |
Paul 10 June 2005 21:21:39 | Has anyone heard Anita's Somebody's In My Orchard (1966) concept album about fruit and various other pastoral concerns? It's quite a period piece actually, produced by Mike Margolis. The album sleeve trendily pastiches a cover of a James Bond novel with a doe eyed Ms Harris caressing a revolver to her face. Hilarious. What's that got to do with orchards and honeysuckles? Anyway she does a cover of Adam's Apple which is quite sweet. It's cod Nancy Sinatra complete with Anita coyly whispering at the end the number that she's lost her fig leaf. Blimey. Seek it out if you haven't heard it. |
